Everett-Junction got its name because the train tracks in Everett, being of the oldest train lines in the city. A junction is where two or more train track routes meet. Delta Junction which is also in North Everett got its name from the early train tracks and routes in Everett. The only other neighborhoods named after major transportation was Port Gardner for the waterway shipping industry as well as Harborview-Seahurst-Glenhaven in South Everett.
